About This
Event
Join us for the best
party race of the
season! This five-mile event, held at the luxurious, four-diamond
Grand Geneva Resort & Spa,
is the perfect weekend getaway for you and your running pals! The
competition is stiff, the awards numerous,the beer flows freely and
the beach clothing theme party rocks!
Race History
It all started on a
balmy winter day in
1980 at the Playboy Club in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Over
1,000 runners showed up for our first-time event. The late John Jantz
fired the starter’s pistol, and Playboy bunnies, in uniform,
gave
out the trophies! Join us for the 29th running of the best party race
in the Midwest!
Directions
The race begins and
ends at the Grand
Geneva Resort & Spa, just east of the intersection of hwys. 50
&
12 on the east side of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. After the long
driveway, you will see the Forum building and parking lot. There is
additional parking beyond the main entrance. Registration and
post-race party at the Forum.
Registration
Same-day registration will begin at the resort at 12:30 p.m. on
race day.
Bib pickup
Bib numbers may be picked up on race day at 12:30
p.m. at the Forum Ballroom.
Awards
Medals are awarded to
the fastest male
and female of EACH age (e.g., 15, 16, 17, up to 65. We only order
medals for ages 15-65. If you are younger or older than that, you
must preregister if you want us to have a medal for your particular
age. Awards for the fastest male and female overall. And then there’s the Grand, Overall, Overall, World
Champion award!
Award Run!
A commemorative award is
guaranteed to the first 600 registered runners! Isn't that better
than another lackluster T-shirt?
Teams
Not available for this years event.
Huge
post-race party!
The biggest
runners’ party of the
season! Free food (More food this year), beer & soda, snacks, DJ, dancing, tons 'o door
prizes. Those who do not wish to run, or are a guest of runners, may join the party for a donation of $5 (soda) or $15
(beer), but are not eligible for door prizes.
Stay at the
resort!
Don’t drink
& drive! A block of
rooms has been reserved at the price of $115/night. A huge discount off the normal rate! This price is subject to local
taxes and other resort fees. Call 1-800-558-3417 for reservations,
mention the Lakes Area
Running Club to receive the discount price. Our block of rooms will
be held until December 9, 2009. After that, group rates will apply, but
only if
rooms are available.
Sausage Dance
Ladies, show your
enthusiasm for smoked
meats by participating in our annual sausage dance contest at the
post-race party! But remember: Any risque behavior is grounds for
disqualification.
Big Hunk
Dance
Now the guys can get
into the act, too!
After the Sausage Dance, there will be a short contest for the men,
judged by the Sausage Queen and her court. (Was added in 2007).

& Stuff
The race will not be
canceled or
delayed due to weather. No refunds. Finish times will be recorded up
to 60 minutes. (For safety reasons, we can’t risk having our
volunteers outside for longer than that-please be considerate.)
